At the Local Membership held on April 28, 2007 the membership voted to endorse Thomas Gordon for the Democratic Primary for New Castle County Executive this September 9, 2008. 

Tom has opened his Campaign Headquarters. The address is:

50/50 WINNER:  The wining ticket for Local 1607 Recreation Committee's 50/50 drawing was held a month early due to all the tickets being sold ahead of time. The drawing was held at the Locals May 19, 2008 Membership Meeting. The winner was Willie Gibert of AFSCME Local 459 and the prize was $214.00. The Recreation Committee plans on having another 50/50 raffle around Christmas.  The Executive Board wants to thank all the members who bought and sold the raffle tickets.

The Local is proud to announce the 2 new appointments as Representatives on the Benefit Committee. They are Latonya Frieson-Jones as you Locals Benefit Committee Representative and Antoinette Brzozowski as the Locals Benefit Committee Representative Alternate. Announcement: 

At the February 25, 2008 membership the members voted to go in with Local 459 to have a Christmas Party. It will be at the I.B.E.W. Union Hall on Basin Road. More information will be available to the members as to time, date and cost of tickets as we get close to Christmas.
